Medicines and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group

The CCG Medicines Optimisation team promotes good quality prescribing which involves the use of medicines which are evidence based, cost-effective and safe.

The team works closely with GP practices, community pharmacies and local NHS Trusts.

Community Pharmacy

Community pharmacists are able to advise on general health issues such as giving up smoking, can dispense your prescriptions and dispose of unwanted medicines. They can also offer advice and treatments for minor ailments saving a visit to the doctor’s surgery. Read more information related to Community Pharmacy.

Joint Formulary

The North Staffordshire Joint Formulary (NSJF) has been developed jointly between Stoke-on-Trent CCG, North Staffordshire CCG, University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust and North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. It is applicable to all prescribers working within primary care or hospitals across North Staffordshire. Read more information related to Joint Formulary.

Questions about your own medicines

If you have any questions about your own medicines please contact your community pharmacist (chemist) or your GP surgery. Please refer to the NHS Choices website to find your local pharmacy.
