From pulling pints to fighting a pandemic – how a “super-trainer” has been helping save lives in care homes

 

 

Before lockdown nurse Vicki Rowe was enjoying a career break and living in a Staffordshire pub.

 

Vicki, a health visitor with NHS Midlands Partnership Trust (MPFT), talks about how she was then propelled into the frontline of the fight against Coronavirus in Episode 11 of our podcast series.

 

She became one of a small band of super-trainers working with care homes to prevent the spread of the virus.

 

After a huge multi-agency effort, all 331 care homes across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent have received infection prevention and control training to a nationally approved standard.
