Review of local community services for Ophthalmology, Gynaecology and Ear, Nose & Throat
We will be developing the specifications for these services soon. In order to find out your experiences and what is important to you when using these community services in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire, three surveys (one for each service) were conducted during September 2017.
A brief description of each of the services is given below:
Community Ophthalmology Service – this service is based in the community to provide care closer to home and is provided to patients suffering from a range of eye conditions and is a “triage and treat” clinic.
Community Gynaecology Service – this service is based in the community and provides triage, “see and treat”, and diagnoses and manages gynaecological conditions that don’t require hospital treatment or management.
Community Ear, Nose and Throat Service – this service provides triage and assesses and treats conditions that don’t need hospital treatment or management. These services are based at the Royal Stoke Hospital.
The surveys have now closed, and we are in the process of reviewing the feedback from each survey. A report summarising the feedback will be published here as soon as it is available, and will be used to develop the specifications for these services.
