Heather Johnstone - Director of Nursing and Quality

Heather has a wealth of experience gained over many years and in a variety of healthcare settings, with a background in nursing and midwifery and clinical audit.

Heather's primary focus has always been quality and safety and has worked in NHS quality management since 1999. In 2005 she graduated from the Health Services Management Centre at Birmingham University with an MSc in Managing Quality in Healthcare. In 2009 she was appointed as PCT (primary care trust) Governor for Mid Staffordshire Hospitals following the first investigation. Heather used this experience and the learning from Mid Staffs to drive quality improvements for all local providers which still operate today.

Heather believes that high quality, safe care should be the basis of all we do, to improve outcomes for patients and savings for the NHS, both of which are essential.
